Hebrews 12:1-3

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

short term plans

Well this afternoon we had our house looked at to see what we can do short term to make it acceptable for    Sandra to be home longterm. We are blessed that Sandra can get almost everywhere on the main floor, for those that know our home it looks like we will move our bedroom to Sandra's office, and the office upstairs for now plus a bathroom reno and we are set for the short term.
I was listening to The Message (Sat. Radio) this morning and they were speaking on Psalm 119 :105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light for my path. They made the point of it is a lamp not a flood light so we only need to see the next few steps not at everything. That is how I feel now, one day at a time and step by step.
Sandra spent even more time trying to strengthening her self today. Its very important that she strengthen and protect her shoulders. She is struggling a little with her left shoulder, it was damaged a little in the accident. So please be praying that this will heal quickly so that she continue to get strong and do all she can. Tomorrow is another milestone as Sandra will try to transfer from her chair to the car, another step.
Please pray for Sandra tomorrow as she works towards getting a little more freedom again.
Mike

  1. Mike,
You are such a supportive husband. Love in action. You will continue to do whatever is necessary and go above and beyond. Remembering you in prayer as you care and provide for your family. They are blessed to have you! I know you feel the same about them. :)

  2. Hi Sandra,
Just a note of encouragement to you! Your determination, perseverance and faith are an inspiration. We've been remembering these past few weeks God's faithfulness to us 5 years ago in sparing my life, but also the difficult journey and extended hospital stay. God is so good and will see you through. Even though we joked that we thought we had enough character, Romans 5:3-5 was an encouragement to us back then and remains special today: "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us." We'll keep praying for you in so many ways!
    Love,

  3. Hi Sandra and Mike,
It's always so good to read the updates on the blog....following you guys closely in spirit, and in prayer....
I wanted to give you one of my favourite verses, from Joshua (1:9 - Good news translation)
"Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go."
BTW, I think the "determined and confident" part is totally Sandra!!! :)

  4. Hi Sandra and Mike,

We are encouraged by your faith. You are remembered by our family and also our Lifegroup, in prayer.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. - 2 Cor 4:18

May God give you the grace to endure, strength to persevere and faith to overcome.

“See now that I myself am he!
There is no god besides me.
I put to death and I bring to life,
I have wounded and I will heal,
and no one can deliver out of my hand. - Duet 32:39

  5. Julia and Emily told me you were looking over the ways to make your home accessible. I told them about how we ramp the stairs in our house, for Chris's wheelchair, and how well that works for us as a family. We're praying for you! Our church is praying, and tomorrow, the Thursday morning intercessors will be praying! Lots of love, from Cathy & Leo

  6. We are following your blog with prayer. It was a real shock when Riet (HCH Brampton) told us of the accident, but it ia a real inspiration to see how you are able to handle this. May God bless you and grant further healing to Sandra.
