Hebrews 12:1-3
Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

Every day is a new adventure
Everyday I'm learning somthing new. I'm going full out from the the time I wake to about 2:30pm when my last therapy session ends. It amazes me how much energy it takes to do the simple tasks like putting on your socks and shoes. I am however thankful that I'm strong and will overcome it. God has placed so many amazing people in our lives that have been helping us through this process and we are so incredibly thankful. As much as you may be looking for updates on the blog, I'm looking for comments or as I like to call them bursts of encouragement. It's amazing and I thank God for each and everyone of you. I'm continuing to pray and to wait on the Lord (Isa8:17)I am asking in faith, having the courage to wait with patient perseverance for Him and in the meantime I'm doing the things that are in my power to do. Thank you for your prayers. Hugs Sandra

Dear Sandra - this burst of encouragement comes from Ephesians 3: "I’m asking God to give you a gift from the wealth of his glory. I pray that he would give you inner strength and power through his Spirit. Then Christ will live in you through faith. I also pray that love may be the ground into which you sink your roots and on which you have your foundation. This way, with all of God’s people you will be able to understand how wide, long, high, and deep his love is. You will know Christ’s love, which goes far beyond any knowledge. I am praying this so that you may be completely filled with God." And another little encouragement is that I know I'm not the only one praying this for you...so are the masses! So rest in His love and His hope...He loves YOU and so do we.

Hey Sandra ~ I hope you don't mind, but I had to share some of your "Home Sweet Home" blog, and other parts, with others. You continue to AMAZE me, woman! I wonder how many people your courage, strength, and faith have touched. I believe you are in this particular phase of life because the Lord knows your encouraging, determined attitude can help 'someone' out there. How many times have you heard someone say, "If 'that' happens to me", or "If I end up like 'that', just shoot me"? Perhaps you have/will prevent someone from taking their own life because they are in somewhat the same situation you are in. They, however, may not have the faith and trust in Him that you do, and wallowed in their own 'why me' self pitty; albeit understandable, until YOU came along. Everything for a reason you Servant of the Lord. Press on girl...you will overcome! You have such an awesome, envious spiritual strength. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteSandra - you are an inspiration. I think of you so very often day and night. Thank you for your posts - I read them daily, anticipating what you have learnt next and thankful for the little things that just seem second nature - like putting on socks and shoes. Keep going my friend - keep doing what you're doing. God be praised!!! Love V

ReplyDeleteIt is all about God! I know His power to deliver is so very awesome.Every day I come to understand more: that it truly is about Him, what He does and why. It is NOT for or about us, though we most of the time benifit from His actions. It truly is about and for His Glory and His name. Blessed be His name.
Norman
P.S.We pray for you and your deliverence each day
Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI knew your husband when we were kids growing up at Calvin CRC and it seems that many of my friends at the Met know you. I check this blog daily to see how things are going and am praying for you. I am certain that God is using you in incredible ways through this hard time. I am so inspired by your incredible attitude and your trust in the goodness and faithfulness and sovereignty of God. I shared your situation with a friend of mine today who is not a believer because she was commenting on how she has seen how a strong faith life can help people through hard times. You are having a huge impact from your hospital/rehab bed - it makes me think of Paul's letters written from prison. Praying for strength, courage, protection from discouragement and healing!

These verses keep coming to me for you - so here goes: "The Lord himself goes before you, he will never leave you or forsake you, so NEVER be afraid and NEVER be discouraged"

Dear Sandra,
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting; thank you for letting us into your world. Not a post passes that I do not read, often not only once, but twice or three times to better understand what you are going through. And to therefore better pray. You are a great champion. Your strength in our Lord, and your strength and determination to overcome is remarkable and a great inspiration to us all. What we often take for granted you now value more than we could ever imagine. As I pray for you I am deeply reminded of all that we need to thank God for daily. I have not visited for I know that your 'followers' are many, I have asked Carla to let me know when it is the right time. As I wait, I pray and follow your story in great love.

Thinking of you, Sandra!! And praying that you're rehab is going well. Just think... we're rehabing together at the same time!! I had hip replacement on May 14th, so here I am 9 weeks post-op and still on crutches or a cane, and doing physio 2-3 times a week. Although your challenges are more difficult than mine, I have to laugh that we're both struggling to get our socks on!! :) You can do it!!!Keep smiling, like I know you are. Hugs and prayers,
