Hebrews 12:1-3

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

6 months today!!

Well it is anniversary day again, 6 months since the accident. When I think about it sometimes it feels like a bit of a blur spending  2 1/2 weeks in trauma, to Ottawa rehab center, renovating the home, buying different equipment and now the last 3 months being in Detroit every week.
We are excited going forward spending more time at home with the kids and just getting a better family routine.
Today is also reassessment day in Detroit. With these reassessments we have always had progress, hoped and prayed for more progress but progress none the less. Today we have the abductor on the right leg to add to our list of functioning muscles. This muscle is the inner thigh, we were hoping for her quad but that will just have to wait for another day. Her hip flexors and glutes continue to get stronger but not enough yet to get voluntary movement.
See you all soon, Mike

  1. Happy Anniversary, and congratulations for trusting and ministering God's word every where this journey has taken you in the last six months. I can't even begin to imagine living with what you have both had to endure, and yet you have done it for the most with a joy and a smile, and in a trust like no other, knowing that our amazing God is holding you, and that he has a plan for your life and for all that has happened. You have fed my soul with the love you have for each other, for your beautiful girls, for God, and for your family.
So heres to the future and all it will bring, and for the joy there will be on this earth and in heaven when all our prayers for healing are truly answered. I will continue to pray and hold you up every day.......Val.

  2. You do get to know your muscles in all this training...we are truly "fearfully and wonderfully made"...How we pray for continued improvement and the grace to live each day to the full, assured of God's presence and unfailing love. Irene and Charles

  3. Waiting is always hard and wanting to get results and not is hard too, but you know that things will happen in Gods time as much as we want it to happen our way it's him who ultimately decides. I know you have faith in him and the strength to carry forward. You have already had such great results and I'm so happy for them and for you. Continue strong and in his name and you will succeed
