Hebrews 12:1-3

Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

Heading Home

Mike and I headed back into the rehab center in Detroit today to trial the FES bike. I was able to go on it for a good 45 minutes. It by passes my spinal cord and activates my nerves to than stimulate and contract my muscles which than move my legs to move the peddles. This is good for many reasons, circulation, muscle strength and my range of motion. They are recommending rehab three times a week for three months, they would assess me after each month making any changes to my treatment plan. We have a lot to consider before we make any decisions. We are looking at what can be done here in Ottawa and completed in Detroit. They are very willing to partner with our Physiotherpiest in Ottawa which could make travel a little easier. As we speak we are on our way home and are looking forward to seeing the girls tomorrow and hearing about there adventures camping with the Martins. So please be in prayer that God will continue to guide us as to what we need to do. We believe God has directed us to Detroit we are just not sure as to the logistics of how it will work. Malachi 3:10 "Test me in this ... And see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it" God's ability to perform is far beyond our prayers. We ask for a cupful, while He owns the entire ocean! So I am asking for the Ocean, complete healing. Hugs Sandra

  1. Hey Mike and Sandra. Wauseon isn't too far from Detroit and Laura's brother works for GM (sorry Mike) in downtown Detroit. Let us know if you are there for a while or will be there in the future.

  4. Thank you Lord, for all your goodness and blessings to us in the midst of our trials and when we are walking in the storms of life. Thank you for your word and your promises, We don't want to limit you Lord and we know that you are able and willing. Bring complete healing to Sandra's body. Your word says that faith is the assurance of what we can't see yet, so we see this right now with the eyes of our faith, and we say thank you.

  7. Hi Sandra and Mike... Thrilled to hear that there are options ahead and love hearing of your trust in God. We are praying every day for your complete healing, Sandra!! Just wanted to mention that you probably drove right past our house on your way to and from Detroit:) We live 1 hour from there, 5 minutes off the 401. We have 2 steps getting into our house but have very large doorways and would love to have you stop by for a visit or rest along the way. Let us know if we can be of help, in ANY way:)
    Hugs and prayers,
    Paul and Kathryn Luimes

  8. Tried posting this yesterday but didn't take so I'll try again:) Just wanted to let Mike and Sandra know that we are praying for them and are thrilled to hear that there are options for them to consider!! We pray for you everyday, Sandra, that the Lord will have your big toe wiggle!!!
We also wanted to extend an invitation for a visit. We live an hour from Detroit and would love to have you stop by. We have 2 steps into the house but the inside are quite wide doorways and spacious. We are only 5 minutes off the 401 #109. If you end up deciding that Detroit works best - PLEASE let us know if we can be of help in ANY way!!
    HUGS!!!

  9. We'll join you in "asking for the ocean", praying that you might sense God's clear direction in the decisions you have to make during the coming days. "And you will hear a voice behind you saying, this is the way, walk in it"...Much love, as always, Irene
