Hebrews 12:1-3
Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!

How are you doing... No really how are you doing?
So this is the question we get asked allot. Sometimes it depends on when you ask what answer you might get. Under the circumstances we are doing very well. We do have the comfort that God is in control, he has a plan for our lives and this will somehow work out. Probably the best way to sum up our state is we have bad hours not bad days. There are things you don't even think about that Sandra misses, like having her clothes hang instead of always feeling bunched up, having a real sneeze or cough since they come from your lower abs the list goes on and on. Every day is better than the last and we look forward to what the future holds for us. Mike

ReplyDeleteHi.
ReplyDeleteOnce again thank you for being real & letting us have a wee glimpse of "how it really is".. I'm particularly touched as I read this latest post concerning things Sandra misses. I was thinking about THAT very thing a few days ago when I was thinking about her & praying for her.
I trust that as we all continue to pray for you , Sandra ; God will continue to give an extra measure of grace for everything you miss doing these days.
xo
love, Dixie
Sandra & Mike,
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog from Manitoulin Island. You have many people praying for you here. Your tremendous faith, grace, dignity & love have brought many people closer to our Lord. You have helped many people to have spiritual growth & healing. Romans 5:3-5 "But we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perserverance; and perserverance character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." I am praying for your complete physical healing Sandra & thanking Him for you glorifying him. Best wishes to your family. Tish
I am only too aware that it's a day by day drawing upon His grace, and so our answer to how we're doing does indeed depend on the day or moment the question is being asked. All I can see clearly is your determination to lean hard on the Lord and live a moment at a time in the awareness of His unfailing love, His plan and His purpose in the midst of our hardships. And, of course, trusting in His power to heal. Hugging you from a distance, Irene and Charles
